2018 Detector/Tracking Certification

2018 Detector and Tracking Certification is being held in Laramie, Wyoming hosted by the Albany County Sheriff's Office.  The dates are April 27th, 28th and 29th, 2018.  Please contact Christian Handley at chandley@co.albany.wy.us ASAP with your shirt sizes, they will be buying handlers and judges shirts.

2018 PD 1 Certification

2018 PD 1 Certification will be held in Garden City, Kansas hosted by the Finney County Sheriff's Office.  The Certification dates will be 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2018.  More information will be available at a later date.   

Training Information

El Paso County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a USPCA  sponsored E-Collar Class on April 10th and 11th, 2018.  Times will be 8 am - 5 pm.  Class will be free to USPCA Members and $50.00 for non-members.  If a hotel is needed, Homewood Suites (719-265-5000) will be the host hotel with a rate of $106.00 per night.  Please use code of "USPCA E-Collar Class"  to get the discount and reservations must be made before March 23rd.  Dogs should attend and E-Collars will be available to use.  Class address will be 3755 North Mark Dabling in Colorado Springs.  Please contact Mark Miller at markmiller@elpasoco.com if you have any questions.

Training Articles

This is a new item that has been suggested by Region 14 Members.  I hope that when you read these training articles you can keep an open mind and understand that authors are just trying to provide Region 14 members with information to get you prepared for deployments or certifications.  I hope you wrll enjoy the material the authors are giving us and are open to putting the suggestions in place if you or your K-9 Teams are having difficulty with a certain task.  I know each of the authors is willing to discuss these training articles in further detail if anyone has questions.
